You must have the required permission OP & Access to Server Panel to use whitelist.
Also note that the /whitelist command is useless apart from adding and removing people from the whitelist. It just reverts back to what it was before on the panel.
Follow the steps below to do it properly!
Turning on the whitelist means nobody which is not on the whitelist or is no opped cannot join. This is a great way for locking down servers for maintenance.
To turn on the whitelist so players cannot join, change "Disabled" to "Enabled" on the settings under "Whitelist"
Then, top left click "Save Changes" and Restart your Server.
Turning off the whitelist means anyone can join, whether they are OP, on the whitelist or not. This is the default way your server comes, with no whitelist.
To turn the whitelist off, repeat the steps from Turning on the Whitelist but instead of clicking "Enable" on the whitelist dropdown, click "Disable".
Now as before, click "Save Changes" and Restart your Server.
Adding people to the whitelist gives them access to the server when the whitelist is enabled.
To add someone to the whitelist, run the following command in chat. For console, do not include the / (forward slash) infront of the command.
Note that if this person you are trying to whitelist is on Minecraft Bedrock Edition, you will need to put a . infront of their name.
They must also have to have tried to join the server when the whitelist is on. You could just disable the whitelist, let them join and then turn it on and of course add them to it then.
Removing people from the whitelist no longer gives them access to the server when the whitelist is enabled (unless they are opped).
To remove someone from the whitelist, run the following command:
Same rules apply for bedrock players and the difference between console and player-chat commands!
